SEAN CHAMBERS CLOCKS IN WITH ROCKIN’ BLUES ON TEN TIL MIDNIGHT,

NEW CD RELEASED OCTOBER 20 ON BLUE HEAT RECORDS

FORMER MUSICAL DIRECTOR FOR HUBERT SUMLIN TEARS INTO A BLISTERING SET OF BLUES ON HIS LATEST ALBUM

TAMPA, FL – Blues guitarist and singer Sean Chambers has announced an October 20 release date for his latest CD, Ten Til Midnight, on the Blue Heat Records label, to be nationally distributed by Burnside Distribution. The new disc is the third CD from the Tampa-based Chambers, and showcases the powerful style which earned him critical plaudits from a host of magazines, including Europe’s Guitarist Magazine, which listed Sean as “one of the Top 50 Blues Guitarists of the last century;” and Total Guitar Magazine, which called his 1998 debut CD, Strong Temptation, “The most impressive blues debut since Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Texas Flood.”

Sean’s talents as a guitarist were recognized early-on by a host of blues stars and legends, such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and Robert Cray, who all employed Chambers as their opening act on numerous shows in Florida. Earlier this decade, he got the call from another iconic blues guitarist, Hubert Sumlin, whose own work with the great Howlin’ Wolf was a one the of trademarks of the Wolf’s sound; and Chambers signed on as Sumlin’s musical director and guitarist. During a period of five years, he toured all over the world backing Hubert at festivals and clubs throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan and Canada. “I consider my time with Hubert Sumlin as my college education. I learned so much from Hubert,” says Chambers.

On Sean’s second album, the 2005 release, Humble Spirits, he put those lessons to good use, expanding his musical horizons beyond blues on an album produced by Bud Snyder (The Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule), which featured such special guests as Bernard Allison, Frankie and Dan Toler (The Allman Brothers), Bobby T. Torello (Johnny Winter) and Greg Allman band alumnus Bruce Waibel.

On Ten Til Midnight, Sean Chambers and co-producer Tim Blair wanted to go for a live sound similar to their incendiary concert shows; so most of the tracks were recorded with few overdubs. They feature Chambers on guitar and vocals, and his regular touring band: Tim Blair on bass and Paul Broderick on drums. Special guests includes Ben Crider on Hammond B-3 organ, Jack Henriquez on piano, Gary Keith on harmonica, and Robin Bouie and Clarence L. Stevenson on backing vocals.

Sean’s aggressive, yet fluid blues guitar approach is evident throughout the seven originals, as well as covers of songs from ZZ Top (“Brown Sugar”), Luther Allison (“All the King’s Horses”) and Eddie “Guitar Slim” Jones (“You’re Gonna Miss Me”). It’s that combination of reverence for tradition along with his special jolt of energy that makes his sound so unique.

Sean Chambers will support the release of Ten Til Midnight with consistent tour dates, including an October 17 show at the House of Blues in Orlando as special guest for Robin Trower, and October 12 w/ Johnny Winter in Melbourne Beach, FL.

Sean burns up the fret board like few can, playing with power and intensity that has earned him comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter and Billy Gibbons among others. Chambers grew up listening to blues guitar legends such as Freddie and Albert King, BB King, Howlin Wolf, Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters to name a few.

Today those influences come through in Sean’s style of play and stage performance both instrumentally and vocally. In 1998 Chambers was asked to fill in as Hubert Sumlin’s guitarist at The “Bluesstock” Festival in Memphis, TN. The two hit it off amazingly well and had a unique and obvious chemistry together.Chambers would find himself acting as Sumlin’s guitarist and band leader for the next four years, performing at festivals and clubs in most of the major markets around the U.S. as well as touring overseas with Sumlin.

After his time with Hubert, (“His school” as he calls it) guitarist Sean Chambers headed out on his own, releasing two critically acclaimed cd’s and garnering recognition as one of the top blues rock guitar players in the country. In 2001, Britain’s Guitarist Magazine named Sean as one of the 50 Greatest Blues Guitarists of all time. Pretty heady for someone still in his early thirties!

If you like your blues blazin hot, this trio will definitely light your fire! Chambers continues to develop his powerful style on his October 2005 release Humble Spirits, which showcases his musical evolution beyond the standard blues idiom. Produced by industry veteran Bud Snyder (Allman Brothers / Gov’t Mule), the album features several notable musicians including Bernard Allison, Frankie & Danny Toler (Allman Brothers), Bobby T. Torello (Johnny Winter), along with Greg Allman Band alumnus Bruce Waibel. Sadly, Bruce unexpectedly passed away while still recording the sessions with Sean, and Humble Spirits is dedicated in Bruce’s memory.

Here are some other artists Sean has shared the stage with: BB King, Buddy Guy, Greg Allman, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Feat, Double Trouble, Otis Rush, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Govt Mule, Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Simmons, Tab Benoit, Jimmy Thackery, Jeff Healey, Derek Trucks, Bernard Allison, (also appears on Seans latest release “Humble Spirits”) Ronnie Baker Brooks, North American Allstars, Stone Temple Piolts, Leslie West, Georgia Sattelites, Rick Derringer, Pat Travers, David Allen Coe, Mitch Rider & The Detroit wheels, Little Milton, James Cotton, Pinetop Perkins, Willie Big eyes Smith, Kim Wilson, Hubert Sumlin, Bobby Blue Bland, Chris Duarte, Walter Trout, Big Bill Morganfield, Koko Taylor, Ike Turner, Magic Slim, Bo Diddley, Robert Cray.
